Cambodia Moto Tour

Here is a little video of our March moto tour in Cambodia. This was climbing some logging tracks in Sen Monorom, western Cambodia, only a few kilometers from the Vietnam border.

Siem Reap and the Old Angkor Temples

During Dawn and Loretta's recent visit we went to visit the Temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm. Amazing to think that when London had a population less than 15,000, the Angkor Empire was over 1,000,000 people strong.

Clancy and the Camera

We have given Clancy our little Olympus digital camera to take out when we travel so here is a selection of his photos of recent events. If you look at the Black car you can see our reflection as we drove past. I asked Clancy if he had been taking photos while we were driving. He said "NO". Whatever!

Vespa Rally

There is a Vespa club in Phnom Penh and we went for a ride with them around town today, then stopped for lunch.

Wat Phnom and Ice Cream

Clancy and I went had look at Wat Phnom and to join the Vespa Rally, which we found out was the next day. Anyway we had a look around and then went for Ice cream. Strawberry is the favorite at the moment. Wat Phnom is one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Penh. Built in 1373, it stands at 27 meters and is the tallest religious structure in the city. Built on an artificial hill by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh after a great flood washed statues of Buddha downstream, it has since been renovated. There have been many additions to the original shrines over the centuries. The largest stupa houses the ashes of King Ponhea Yat and it is the center of city celebration for the Cambodian New Year, and Pchum Benh.

5 Day motocross tour of Cambodia

Matt Ingram came in from Hong Kong and we headed out for a 5 day tour through Cambodia, led by Paeng from Dancing Roads Cambodia. I rode an XR250 and we covered just under 1100kms. We headed North from Phnom Penh on the the western river bank of the Mekong and then crossed by ferry into Kratie where we spent the first night. Next morning we went to see the river dolphins before heading on to Sen Monorom in the East of the country where we spent 2 nights and toured around some local sights. We had a local shave, visited waterfalls, temples, highland tribe, rode through some jungle, saw animals and generally had a great ride. On the fourth day we traveled back to the Mekong stopping overnight in the city of Kampong Cham, watching a riverside aerobics class, then came down the eastern side of the river on day 5, catching another ferry across the Mekong and returning to Phnom Penh.
