Great Signs and Sayings

After many years overseas, there are some things which still surprise us. Obviously some of the VIP's complained that they were mixed with a lower level of VIP and so another group was created.

Similarly, many years ago in Fiji when there was concern about people driving over the speed limit, they wanted to highlight how bad this was and so the term "overspeeding" was born. I never worked out if that meant a certain level of speeding was allowed?

Education Day - Tonga

Education Day started of with a parade from the grounds adjacent to the Royal Palace and headed up the main street to the Sports stadium.

Paul visits Tonga

Paul visited Tonga this past week to deliver 3 training / development sessions for the local food industry. His first two sessions for cooks delivered Advanced Food Presentation and Preparation to build the awareness of the potential of Tonga's fresh produce. He also delivered a one night Master chef class (pictured), inviting restaurateurs and foodies to again highlight the quality of the produce and what could be delivered.With Crayfish topping the $70 AUD kilo in Australia, to buy local crays at the equivalent of $35 AUD for was a treat.

After 10 days of work it was time for Obi wan Cvetko and Darth Chef (Darth Tator) to have a little bit of fun

and for the household to benefit from some great cuisine!

The last day before Paul left we took him for a day of R&R at Fafa Island resort about 5 miles from town. The weather wasn't great but we got a little bit of sunshine between the rain and a chance to snorkel.

Wedding Anniversary

This was our 7th Wedding Anniversary. It also coincided with Tongan Father's day.

Mother's Day

They are always looking for a reason to eat Cake in Tonga. Anny gets her first Mother's Day cake.

While on the Gold Coast we had some rain showers and this great rainbow display.

Easter Egg Hunt

This year we spent Easter at Nat's house on the Gold Coast. Monique and Claudia were there also so it gave Anny a great chance to spend some tine with them and indulge in one of her favorite pastimes, hunting for chocolate.

Easter Table

Clancy is home on school holidays at the moment. Today Fine and Clancy spent an afternoon making balloon Easter eggs and decorating the table in an Easter theme for our surprise when we came home.

Swimming Carnival

Clancy's school had an intense term of swimming lessons, 3 time per weeks, finishing with this swim carnival. Two lessons were at the beach and one this small hotel pool. Clancy competed in the paddle board swim and the freestyle races.
